Job Summary: As the Global Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our global supply chain. Your primary responsibility will be to develop new suppliers with new disciplines (machining, castings, forgings, weldments, gear cutting). This role will assess, monitor, and improve the quality of components sourced from suppliers in Vietnam. You will collaborate closely with our existing suppliers to implement quality improvement initiatives, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement supplier quality agreements and performance metrics (score card) to ensure consistent quality across the supply chain.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing, to define and translate quality requirements for machined components and ensure alignment with production goals.
Investigate root causes of supplier quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and monitor effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers in resolving quality-related challenges, including process improvements, tooling optimization, and inspection techniques.
Lead supplier development initiatives to enhance the capabilities and maturity of key suppliers, including process capability assessments, training programs, and quality system audits.
Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through data analysis, trend monitoring, and benchmarking against industry standards.
Collaborate with our global sourcing teams to identify new suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and qualify them for new product introductions or capacity expansions.
Maintain documentation related to supplier quality activities, including audit reports, inspection records, and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to machining processes and supplier quality management.
Perform Source Inspections as required for New Product, PPAP requirements, or as defined by Control Plans or Corrective actions.
