The Chief Accountant is responsible for organizing and overseeing all financial and accounting activities in a garment manufacturing and processing company. This includes ensuring compliance with accounting law & tax laws and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, controlling production costs and inventory, and providing timely financial reports to management for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage & control all activities related to finance & accounting (Turnover , Costs, Expenses, Depreciation of fixed assets, equipments, tools ...)
1. Accounting Management
• Ensure daily transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).
• Monitor, control, and efficiently manage all turnover, Cost of Goods Sold (including Cost of Purchase, ect..), Cost of Goods Manufactured (materials, labor, outsourcing, transportation, etc) , expenses including related Operating Expenses such as sales expenses, General and Administrative Expenses
• Monitor material consumption rates, wastage, and production variances.
• Analyze cost fluctuations and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency.
• Control commercial contracts, payment terms, and issued invoices.
2. Inventory and Fixed Assets Control
• Supervise inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile with accounting records.
• Manage fixed assets and tools, including tracking and depreciation.
3. Taxation and Compliance
• Prepare and report monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports (VAT, CIT, PIT, contractor tax, etc.)
• Annual financial statements: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Notes to the Financial Statements, Independent Auditor’s Report
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and effective tax planning.
• Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and customs (if involved in import/export activities).
• Make refund value-added tax yearly.
• Prepare and report of related-party transactions (transactions between the company and related parties (parent company, subsidiaries, associated companies, related individuals...)
4. Financial and Management Reporting
• Provide internal management reports on cost, inventory, cash flow, and receivables/payables requested by Director and Managers of Head Quarter.
• Develop annual budgets and cost forecasts based on production planning.
• Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient working capital for operations
• Support management in budgeting and cost control activities
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience: 5 years of accounting experience in manufacturing, preferably in garment/textile production
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of garment production processes and cost structures
• Skills: Detail-oriented, honest, and able to work under pressure
• Language: Fluent in English
• Soft Skills: Self-discipline, adaptability, Ability to work effectively across departments (planning, production, logistics).
• Computer Skill: Proficient in accounting software (MISA, FAST, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
