Credit Underwriter

• Analyze credit data and financial statements of individuals or firms to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit;
• Complete loan application credit review, including credit analysis and summary of credit request and recommendations, and submit to BOD for approval as required.
• Examine loan documentations for accuracy and completeness while working with operations and sales staff to secure all required documents.
• Conduct detailed review of financial statements, credit reports, and all other supporting documentation to ensure that credit criteria are upheld.
• Provide exemplary customer service to both internal staff and external customers by explaining credit decisions and offering alternative options when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of all applicable underwriting guidelines by learning any business unit policies and/or guidelines. Provide proactive feedback on potential policy improvements.
• Responsible for conducting research on borrowers and industries.
• Takes ownership of the credit process, making decisions in the best interest of the customer and organization
• Provides support to account executives on customer calls or site visits as needed for high value applications.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to prevent cases of falsification.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management/BOD

*Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Graduated from University or higher majoring in Banking/ Finance/ Accountant/ Business Administration or other related fields.

*Preferred Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of experience working at a bank/financial institutions in the field of credit appraisal/approvals with specific experience in retail and/or SME segments.
• Analytical thinker with research proficiencies.
• Ability to use reasonable and sound judgment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Good communication skills, including oral and written.
• Ability to conduct research into borrowers and industries to be abreast with factors that may affect profitability and the borrower’s ability to repay loans.
• Proficient in English and Vietnamese.
• A keen interest in green energy or knowledge of solar energy systems is an advantage (not a prerequisite).
