Cost Accountant

• Cost System Development & Maintenance:

Design, implement, and maintain accurate costing systems for materials, Labor, and overhead.

• Cost Analysis & Reporting:

Study and collect data to determine costs, compare standard costs to actual production costs, and provide variance analysis to management.

• Inventory Management:

Ensure accurate costing of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, and assist with stock reconciliations and cycle counts.

• Budgeting & Forecasting:

Develop and manage budgets related to costing issues, providing forecasts to support financial planning.

• Product Costing:

Play a role in costing new products, providing data-driven insights into product profitability.

• Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports for decision-making.

• Process Improvement:

Partner with operational and production teams to identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.

• Month-End Close:

Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entry review and account reconciliations.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in IT skills and accounting software.
• Good communication skills to educate operational teams and present findings to management.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is typically required.
