Key Responsibilities:
1. Painting Quality Inspections:
- Conduct patrols to verify that painting standards are met.
- Inspect surface preparations and painting work according to the approved inspection plan and quality requirements.
- Inspect incoming painting materials to ensure compliance with project requirements, including expiry checks within the product’s shelf-life.
2. Inspection Coordination and Reporting:
- Collaborate with production teams to perform pre-inspections, identify issues, and document findings.
- Collect and prepare information for daily Requests for Inspection (RFI) and maintain inspection records.
- Work with Paint Manufacturer’s Advisors and Ship Owners to ensure quality and promptly address recommendations.
- Report project-related issues directly to the Quality Manager.
3. Documentation and Quality Coordination:
- Organize quality meetings when necessary to address project quality issues.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and reports.
Qualifications:
·Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval, Marine, or General Engineering.
·Certification:NACE Level 2 or equivalent certification preferred.
·Experience:Minimum 2 years in a similar role, preferably in shipyard or heavy industries (e.g., power plants, refineries).
·Skills and Knowledge::
o Proficiency in surface treatment and painting standards (e.g., NACE, BGAS CSWIP, FROSIO, IMO PSPC, ISO).
o Strong technical understanding of surface treatment and painting requirements.
o Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
o Computing proficiency in MS Office applications.
