School Behaviour Supervisor

The school behaviour supervisor:

• Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for implementing the school’s Code of Conduct, Behaviour Policy and improving the behaviour of identified students whose behaviour is a barrier to their performance.
• Be responsible for recording and reporting on behaviour data.
• Have strategic oversight of policies and procedures relating to ensuring good behaviour for learning.
• Create and implement behaviour improvement plans for students with chronic behavior concerns.
• Provide training for teachers on behavior management.

Manage students’ behaviour:

• Work with the school’s agreed Behaviour Policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control and independence.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies with individual students.
• Actively promote good behaviour with all students.
• Develop support materials and information to communicate clearly to students the school’s behaviour policy, raising the profile of good behaviour within the school.
• Provide an alternative location for learning if there is a classroom incident or where a student’s behaviour difficulties lead them to leave the classroom, and monitor the students behaviour whilst in their care.
• To work to raise students’ achievement, particularly those at risk of underachievement through their behaviour or personal circumstances.

Communications with other stakeholders:

• Work with identified poorly behaved students and their parents/guardians on short and medium-term strategies to remove barriers to improve behaviour at school, using advisory and persuasive skills as appropriate.
• Communicate with school staff to update them on student behaviour and work with the staff to identify students with issues that are affecting their performance at school.
• Meet regularly with leaders to discuss current issues and developments relating to behaviour.
• Respond to enquiries from parents/guardians by telephone, email or letter and direct them to relevant sources of advice and guidance as appropriate.
• Attend meetings with external agencies and parents as appropriate and follow up on actions required.
• Liaise with specialist support service to ensure appropriate support is in place for students as required.
• Promote Safeguarding and Welfare of student:
• To be responsible for safeguarding and promote the welfare of children, raising concerns as appropriate.
• To be aware of and implement health and safety responsibilities as an employee and where appropriate any additional specialist or managerial health and safety responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety policy and procedure.
• To work with colleagues and others to maintain health, safety and welfare within the school.
  Appropriately escalate child safety concerns to school leadership.

Others:

• To undertake routine clerical duties as required.
• To participate in appraisal, training and other learning activities.

• Requires a university degree or higher, majoring in pedagogy, priority is given to candidates who have graduated in Sports Pedagogy, Educational
• Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Psychology, Sociology/Anthropology, General Education, Educational Management, with experience in discipline or behaviour management at school.
• Experience with school-based behavioral interventions.
• Empathy and compassion: goal to reinforce and reward pro-social behavior in students who often exhibit distracting, disruptive, or maladaptive behaviors.
• Experience improving individual behavioral performance in a school or community setting.
• Ability to document student behavior, and follow-up with restorative discipline strategies.
• Handle situations and communicate effectively and flexibly with parents, teachers, support staff, and school administration.
• Autonomy; Having an educational philosophy and life motto, clear work goals.
• Understand student psychology, have skills to interact and connect with relevant departments.
• Inclusivity; understand that students come from diverse backgrounds, and may be adapting to life in Vietnam, and students may have individual or special differences that affect their behavior.
• Firm understanding of both Vietnamese and internationally recognized best practices in child safety, including confidentiality.
• Basic understanding of behavior and conduct disorders and how they impact school performance
• Empathy and understanding when working with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students and staff.
• Proactive and positive attitude towards promoting student welfare and well-being.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflict in a calm and effective manner.
  Attention to detail, particularly when handling confidential information and records.
• Adaptability and willingness to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities as needed.
• Basic administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and respect the confidential nature of the role
