Lab Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Compliance to test methods, standards and sampling frequencies as defined by plant and laboratory procedures.

• Monitor stocks & material use.

• Liaise with Material suppliers and order material accordingly.

• Preparation of raw materials for production.

• Equipment cleaning, maintenance and assistance in calibration.

• Completion of all necessary documentation.

• Participation in defect investigations with Polymer Engineer.

• Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Housekeeping Lab and Chemical areas.

• Adhering to all chemical procedures relating to.

• Movement and handling of chemicals.

• Incoming chemical quality control.

• Organising and movement of the Chemical Waste.

• Cutting and preparation of samples.

• Blending.

• Finished product testing.

• Writing reports, reviews and summaries.

• Perform other duties as required.

• 3 years+ experience working lab environment.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good IT skills (Experience with ERP an advantage).

• Problem solving ability and data interpretation skills.

• Flexible and good organisational skills.

• Strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols.

• Must have the desire to strive for continuous improvement and excellence within a fast-paced growth environment.

• Team player.
