  • Job title: Arts and Drama Teacher

  • Report to: The Teacher will report to the Head of Secondary and Head of Primary the successful candidate will be a passionate and committed educator able to demonstrate successful teaching experience in the field of the Arts. The candidate will be student centered, an active participant in the extra-curricular life of the school, highly motivated and a team player.
  • Job Overview: EMASI schools offer a bilingual program following both the Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) and an integrated curriculum based on the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework.
  • The Art and Drama Teacher is responsible for the delivery of the Art Program in Grades 1 through 12 in line with the EMASI curricular frameworks. The teacher will develop students’ understanding and appreciation of Visual and Performance Arts.
  • Responsibilities and Duties: The Arts and Dram teacher is required to exercise his/her professional skills and judgment to carry out, in a collaborative manner, the following professional duties:
  • Academic Responsibilities: A member of the teaching staff team has the following academic responsibilities:
  • To provide an organized, disciplined, and stimulating environment in the classroom.
  • To promote practical first-hand experiences and other educationally appropriate activities for individual and group learning.
  • To provide consistent learning opportunities for all students.
  • To make written and/or oral assessments and evaluations of individual students and of the class as a whole, presenting these to the presenting teacher, SLT, Coordinators, and parents as appropriate.
  • To keep detailed and updated lesson plans and records of group and individual work with students.
  • To provide regular assessment feedback to students in line with school policy and use this to inform future learning.
  • To work collaboratively to offer support and input into the development of a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum.
  • Under the direction of the line manager, to take responsibility for designated areas and aspects of the subject of which he/she is a member.
  • To take responsibility for the care, upkeep, and development of school materials and resources.
  • To assist and support the process of examination and class work moderation both internally and externally.
  • To work collaboratively with fellow colleagues in a spirit of mutual cooperation and maintain and enhance a pleasant professional working environment.
  • To substitute for absent colleagues when necessary.
  • To undertake any other reasonable task or duty as instructed by the Managing Director or designated member of the leadership team.
  • To attend punctually on all occasions agreed in the contract and as reasonably requested by the Managing Director or line manager.
  • To complete all tasks as per the school’s required timelines.
  • Pastoral Responsibilities: A member of the teaching staff has the following pastoral responsibilities:
  • To carry out fully and efficiently pastoral and administrative duties as assigned by the line manager.
  • To be responsible for a reasonable number of playground, lunch, and other duties as may be required.
  • Additional responsibilities:
  • To offer full support and take an active part in the development of a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated extracurricular program within EMASI.
  • To support and implement the positive behavior policy.
  • To undertake any other reasonable task as instructed by the line manager.

Yêu cầu công việc:

  • Qualifications: Relevant Bachelor’s degree in the subject taught and recognized teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Experience with previous experience in an international/bilingual school setting is an asset.
  • Previous experience of the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework and curriculum development is desired.
  • Knowledge: Genuine interest in the specific field from both a pedagogical and theoretical perspective.
  • Ability to work well with faculty and staff from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and be resilient, resourceful, and have an optimistic personality.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, SEN, and Child Protection procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive links necessary within the school and with its stakeholders.
  • Pedagogical approach that fosters student agency and transdisciplinary learning.
  • Skills: Commit and contribute to EMASI Group of Schools within the context of its mission.
  • Establish and develop close relationships with parents and the wider community.
  • Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences.
