The Integrated Climate and Disaster Risk Management via Digital Risk Information and Finance Solutions Project is a technical cooperation project financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Finance and 2 provinces in the Mekong Delta and central Vietnam. The project´s objective is to improve the institutional conditions for the assessment, selection and use of climate and disaster risk financing solutions to secure critical infrastructures.

The project focuses on four working areas:

1. Institutional capacities to assess climate and disaster risks have been strengthened;

2. Decision – makers have integrated climate and disaster risk assessments for critical infrastructures into decision – making processes;

3. The regulatory basis for climate and disaster – resilient protection of critical infrastructures has improved;

4. Institutional capacities for the selection and application of financial instruments to hedge climate and disaster risks have improved.
