1. Responsible for the ramp-up plan of new programs at the supplier or Velcro sites, leading on-site project activities involving Engineering and Manufacturing, and supporting Quality, Supply Chain, and Procurement functions.
2. Support the development of the new product or product variations at supplier or Velcro site. This includes:
Interpretation and creation of patterns for industrial sewing applications and technical textiles
Proper selection of needles, threads, eyelets…and materials based on product requirements. Support procurement as needed.
Compatibility analysis of materials to ensure resistance and durability
Proper selection of commision converting machines and equipments such as cutting, edge folding, gluing, sewing,...based on the product & process requirements
Development of specialized tooling to enhance repeatability in sewing processes, to streamline production times and minimize variabilty
Define and implementation of PokaYoke and error prevention systems at every stage of production
3. Implement and follow-up continuous improvement actions defined by the team to support supplier development and cost improvement
4. Coordinate with SQA to ensure supplier's process controls is established to meet the quality standards
5. Ensure supplier capacity available according to Velcro demand needs (supplier ramp-up and KPI's follow up)
6. Monitor the manufacturing process with supplier to ensure it is continuously optimized to reduce wastes and increase the efficiency
7. Support global team on internal product cost adjustments
8. Work with sales/PAD team to ensure NPI can be successful launched if needed, according to internal processes standards
9. Support regular audits on supplier process, quality, safety, pest control, compliance, etc. conducted by SQA
10. Complete the other jobs assigned by the Company.
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (textile, chemical, mechanical, industrial or similar)
2. Minimum of 7 years working in a industrial environment and +5 years of experience as process engineer and/or project manager, preferably in Footwear & Apparel, Medical or Consumer products
3. Knowledge of industrial sewing machines specially the programmable type of sewing: expertise in development and optimization of sewing processes and patterns to ensure efficiency
4. Knowledge on converting processes for narrow webbing (cut to length, thermal cutting, rivetting, printing, heat transfer decal application…etc)
5. Expertise in validation processes for textile components in the automotive sector (capacity studies, certifications, regulatory compliance)
6. Knowledge of IATF16949 and implementation tools APQP/PPAP/FMEA/SPC/MSA. Familiar with supplier development
7. Strong in data analytics and make informed decisions
8. Critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills
9. Ability to work in a team and collaborate with different local and global cross-functional departments
10. Good communication and Project Management skills (planning and organizational skills)
11. Excellent verbal and written Vietnamese, Chinese Mandarin and English.
12. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
13. Able to work from different Vietnam locations
14. Able to manage multi-region schedules
15. Able to travel to other Asian countries
