Digital Artist and Photoshop Retoucher

Role Objectives Working directly with MBO Creative Services teams and you will provide digital Art and Photoshop retouching in the following areas:

• Reworking and retouching of Product and Packaging Photography to best represent the product for marketing purposes.

• Compositing illustration for Product Branding requirements (Packaging and Marketing assets).

Key capabilities Applying Expertise and Technology

Has functional, practical, and technical knowledge of Image composition and Adobe Photoshop retouching. Takes ownership of processes and functions and applies this expertise accordingly. Shares this expertise and knowledge with others. In addition, has:

• Advanced experience using Adobe Photoshop with Pen Tablet Control (Wacom or Intuios).

• Strong organisational skills within Photoshop allowing others to easily work within your files for collaborative purpose.

• Ability to build and effectively use custom brushes for various material rendering techniques ie; hair or fur.

• Sound English verbal and written skills.

• Good time management skills and self-motivation.

• Versatile illustration skills including digital sketching.

• Advanced understanding of light and colour theory.

• A knowledge of 3D applications and ability to render is an advantage but not necessary.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2-3 years experience in a similar role; and

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Fine Art, illustration or similar

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Work hours: 8.30am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

Work closely with Digital Artists, Retouchers and Photographers in MBO Creative Service to edit / manipulate existing photography that:

• Demonstrate the product in its best light removing damage or blemishes through transportation.

• Ensure image is accurate to original product for colour.

• Adjust any aspect that may have changed from photographed sample to final product.

• Describe the function of a product through impactful illustration for marketing purposes.

• Creating finishing effects ie smoke or lighting functions of a product when in play mode.

Under guidance of MBO Creative Service team, work with Global Senior Graphic Designers and Art Directors use and manipulate product photography and or CAD renders to create final illustrative renders that:

• Show product and its features with impact.

• Ensure image represents the brand look and feel as directed by Art Directors.

• Are accurate to the final product.

• Work well with space and layout provided by the brand team.

• Print ready for packaging and suitable for online marketing and eCom usage.
