Lab Engineer for master study program of Global Production Engineering and Management (GPE)

The Lab Engineer supports the development and success of the GPE Labs within the GPE study program at VGU.

Daily responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment of up Lean and Green Manufacturing and Automation Technology Lab and Metallurgy and Materials Lab, prepare procurement of consumables;

• Support the procurement process of new equipment and software; Perform acceptance tests of new equipment

• Support inventory planning and management of assigned laboratories consumables and purchase requests for minor equipment

• Implement and maintain laboratory safety

• Developing, setting up, and conducting laboratory experiments for courses of the study program

• Prepare the contents and support lecturers in instructing students and supervising students conducting laboratory experiments and assess their laboratory reports

• Assisting students in projects, such as bachelor theses

• Taking part in demonstrations and exhibitions for larger VGU’s events such as Opening Ceremonies or Education Fairs, as well as academic events such as conferences

• Cooperating with other laboratory engineers

• Do training activities related to associated labs for industrial companies; Do production-related projects using the assigned labs for industrial companies as requested by faculty;

• Collaboration with the Lab engineers from other study programs to exchange/borrowing equipment

• Prepare small kits to support the lecture

Periodic/ Irregular responsibilities

• Supporting research projects under the guidance of faculty

• Acting as invigilator for exams of all study programs, if required

• Supporting Master thesis by providing Hardware or fabrication of machine elements

Other duties

• Implementing other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering majors (Mechanical, Electrical Engineer, Automation)

Knowledge

• Good knowledge in Machine elements and Manufacturing

• Good knowledge in automation systems and PLC

Skills

• Good in English both in written and orally.

• Good manners of expression and good writing skills and organizational skills.

• Good command in using office software

• Creative, initiative, can-do attitude.

Be able to work efficiently, independent and self-organized.

Experience

• Experience in teaching support is preferable

• Experience in working with industry is preferable
