Raw Materials Buyer (Working Hour 1:00Pm - 9:00Pm) (Fixed-Term Contract)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support AI and automation initiatives within the Procurement Department. This role will also be responsible for managing international purchasing parameters, maintaining international vendor communications, and optimizing purchasing processes through data-driven solutions and automation tools.

• Manage AI and automation-related projects within the Procurement Department to improve process efficiency and accuracy.

• Maintain appropriate inventory level by analyzing data and forecasting needs.

• Execute purchase orders with vendors, including order placement, expediting, deferring, and cancellations.

• Track and monitor international shipments from suppliers to ensure timely and efficient deluvery to Ashley Furniture.

• Manage vendor communication and relationships, including:

  • Daily order follow-ups and delivery confirmations.

  • Weekly forecasting updates.

  • Monthly/periodic performance reviews to identify strengths, weaknesses, and action plans.

  • Annual/periodic volume and value reviews to establish pricing targets.

• Work closely with Ashley buyers to address and resolve any production related issues.

• Gain a basic technical understanding of managed products, including:

  • Familiarity with test requirements and testing methods.

  • Maintaining technical documentation and master samples.

  • Understanding basic production processes.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Head.

1. Education:

- A four-year university degree inLogistics, Supply Chain,or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

- Apics certification preferred.

2. Experience:Experience in AI, automation, or ERP systems (especially AS400) is a strong advantage.(Applicants who do not have much experience in purchasing will be provided with further training).
3. Knowledgeof Product and process knowledge.

4. Skills and Abilities:

- Must be proficient inMS Officeand familiar with automation tools (e.g.,Power Automate, Python scripts,orAI-based platforms) is a plus.

- Reporting skill &Data sensitiveness: PowerBI, Query, SQL, VBA, Python.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with data to drive decisions.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.

-Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in implementing or supporting AI/digital transformation projects in a supply chain or procurement setting.

• Knowledge of procurement KPIs and vendor performance evaluation techniques.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

*Work in shifts (from 1:00PM - 9:00PM), allowance is provided.
