Purchasing Coordinator - Agricultural Ingredient Products

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Purchasing Coordinator to manage the sourcing and procurement of agricultural ingredient products in the Mekong Delta region. You will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, maintaining high quality standards, and building strong relationships with producers, cooperatives, and traders in the region.

Location: D7, HCMC

Purchasing Area: Mekong Delta / Southern Vietnam

Key Responsibilities

• Source & Develop Suppliers

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers of key agricultural ingredients (e.g. Corn flour, corn starch, soybean meal, rice bran, wheat flour, etc.)

• Conduct regular market price research on farms, cooperatives, traders, and local markets

• Procurement Operations

• Plan and execute purchases according to demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with local suppliers

• Monitor market trends, price movements, and availability of raw materials

• Quality & Compliance

• Work closely with QA/QC to ensure purchased ingredients meet internal and regulatory standards

• Ensure documentation, traceability, and compliance with company and government requirements

• Cost Control & Optimization

• Ensure best value procurement without compromising quality or supply security

• Recommend cost-saving initiatives and local sourcing opportunities

• Collaboration

• Coordinate with production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations

• Maintain accurate records and reporting of procurement activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business, or related field

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or agribusiness in Vietnam (preferably in feed, food, or agri-input sectors)

• Strong knowledge of Southern Vietnam/Mekong Delta agricultural landscape

• Good negotiation and relationship management skills

• Familiarity with commodity markets and pricing mechanisms

• Ability to travel frequently within the region

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Can communicate in English

• Working hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, plus 2 full Saturdays per month.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing for animal feed, aquaculture, or related agriculture processing industries

• Existing network with local cooperatives, traders, or suppliers in Mekong Delta

• Knowledge of logistics and basic import/export procedures (if relevant)
