- Ensure that all House members are involved in a diverse range of interests and aspects of school life.

- Uphold the ethical statements of the Council of International Schools and the mission statement of CISS.

- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress, in addition to addressing specific incidents.

- Be readily available to speak or meet with parents during the semester, particularly at the beginning and end of terms.

- Ensure that academic and House reports are written, proofread, and distributed by published deadlines.

- Manage disciplinary issues for students in the Boarding House.

- Be present in the Boarding House and prepared to respond to duty staff and student needs during most evenings and weekends.

- Fully engage in the life of the school by attending important student events.

- Attend Health and Safety Committee meetings and Head of House meetings as required.

- Actively participate in all School House activities.

- Monitor students’ academic responsibilities.

- Attend staff professional learning sessions, where appropriate.

- Manage student leave requests for boarding students.

- Maintain and further develop a culture of academic and personal success within the Boarding House.

- Ensure that boarding facilities are maintained to a high standard, reflecting 21st-century best practices in boarding.

- Perform other duties as requested by the Head of Boarding.

Personal Characteristics / Experience:

- Refer: Male candidate. Understanding of young people’s well-being, their needs, and ways to support them.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

- Professionalism and the ability to ensure confidentiality of information are essential.

- Previous experience (2-3 years).

Mandatory Training Level or Qualifications:

- Teaching qualifications are preferred but not essential.

- Working with Children Background Check.

- First Aid Certificate (School-based training available).
