Engineer, Hardware Repair (PCBA)

1. Your Job

As a Hardware Repair Engineer, your primary role is to diagnose and repair hardware issues in communication devices such as optical modules and network equipment. You will perform root cause analysis, complete repair tasks independently, support production lines, assist R&D and testing teams in debugging, and report design or manufacturing issues to drive continuous improvement.

2. Our Team

You’ll be part of the Datacom & Specialty Solutions division, collaborating closely with internal teams including QA, PMC, field sales, and marketing. You’ll also engage with external contacts such as customers and suppliers, primarily on technical matters, occasionally accompanied by senior engineers or managers.

3. What You Will Do

• Troubleshoot and repair communication hardware independently, ensuring root causes are addressed

• Support production by resolving hardware issues and minimizing scrap and rework rates

• Collaborate with R&D and testing teams to debug and analyze hardware performance

• Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to product design and manufacturing processes

• Operate advanced testing instruments and manage repair tools and spare parts inventory

• Provide technical support across sourcing, QA, PMC, PLM, and sales functions

• Contribute to training materials and assist in onboarding new technicians

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics, communication, or automation engineering

• Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering or hardware maintenance

• Proficient in English or Chinese (written and spoken)

• Skilled in using office software (Word, Excel, PPT) and written communication

• Strong logical thinking, communication skills, and familiarity with manufacturing processes

What Will Put You Ahead

• Over 2 years of experience in repairing communication equipment

• Deep understanding of communication hardware architecture and principles

• Ability to independently diagnose, repair, and test communication devices

• Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers

• Skilled in soldering/desoldering precision components (e.g., BGA, QFN)

• Capable of reading circuit diagrams and resolving EMC/EMI issues
