Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Chemical Engineer with hands-on experience in the production of EVA and EPDM foam sheets. The ideal candidate will have expertise in foam chemistry, compounding, and process optimization. Experience in blended foams (EVA + EPDM or other combinations) is a strong plus.

This role involves developing and improving foam formulas, overseeing the production process, and ensuring consistent product quality. The candidate will work closely with production teams to implement new formulations, enhance efficiency, and meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize formulas for EVA, EPDM, and blended foam sheets.

Conduct lab-scale trials and scale up to production.

Monitor and control the foam production process to maintain quality standards.

Collaborate with production, quality control, and R&D teams.

Analyze test results and adjust formulations as needed.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry standards.

Research new raw materials and technologies for foam innovation.

Provide technical support to sales and customers on foam properties and applications.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field.

Proven experience in EVA and EPDM foam production.

Strong understanding of polymer chemistry, compounding, and foam extrusion/molding processes.

Experience in blended foams (EVA + EPDM or other material combinations) is a plus.

Ability to develop, test, and refine foam formulas regularly.

Knowledge of foam physical and mechanical properties testing.

Problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting production issues.

Familiarity with additives, crosslinking agents, fillers, and blowing agents used in foam production.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
