Packaging Designer (27312)

• Design packaging solutions using standard products and/or sourced materials
• Provide technical expertise related to packaging solutions
• Assess structural requirements, transportation methods, long-term storage, and other specifications
• Support other departments as required
• Assist in reviewing packaging evaluations and designs created by other engineers or designers
• Collect and prepare sufficient information required for technical drawings
• Create CAD drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials
• Support Senior Engineers in special engineering project assignments
• Assist in understanding material specifications and identifying alternative materials when necessary
• Support the creation of artwork for products

1 EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and education; or
• Master’s Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience and education; or
• CAD Designer/Drafter with significant practical experience
• Project Management certification is considered an asset
2. EXPERIENCE
• At least 1 year of experience using CAD software, either during education or in a professional environment
• Experience in designing with steel, wood, corrugated materials, foam, and/or other industrial materials is an advantage but not required
3. LANGUAGES
• Fluent in English
4. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Experience with CAD software (IronCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or NX/Unigraphics)
