- Research and report upon Market trends as well as market intelligence
- Interact with potential clients and industry trade representatives of competitive hotels
- Attend group run downs, site inspections and all other briefings as required
- Enhance brand reputation online through social media channels
- Attend to telephone, fax, email enquiries in a timely manner
- Issue Event Order's for daily functions ideally 5 days before function, except for Last Minute functions.
- Solicit maximum business from market segments as assigned by Director of Catering/ Cluster DOSM/ General Manager when required.
- Handle office phone calls in a timely and efficient manner
- Work closely with the Banquet Department, the Food & Beverage Director and the Chef to ensure complete followAssist with direct mail campaigns where necessary
- Maintenance and management of booking data base (Delphi)
- Work with Director to achieve departmental revenue targets
- Ensure the consistency of Delphi standards within the wedding department
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance andfor colleagues
- Entertain potential accounts where necessary.
- Prepare daily and monthly Banquet Sales Report (business negotiating, business confirmed, and business lost; areason of losing business in order to improve for further business opportunities).
- Ensure Delphi is updated on a regular basis with regard to business information and business status
- Sell and promote Banquet Function for all meetings and events.
- Prepare proposals and contract letters to customers in an efficient and timely manner.
- Working with Reservations Manager for space allocation of rooms for client
- Help create the department's annual budget and the setting of departmental goals
- Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labor costs....
- Manage suppliers and ensure that we are receiving the best costs
- Ensure that MSS targets are met and that results are communicated to the wider hotel team.
- Provide a monthly report on the weddings department.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to gain a competitive advantage over competitors
- Train and develop fellow team members in the department to ensure a consistent approach is being delivered for aAssist with the co-ordination all familiarizations and site inspections as required
- Meet with clients and attend to the details of their events (including all types of events including weddings, businconferences; internal meetings and external meetings, etc.)
- Work closely with suppliers (i.e. entertainment/theming) to ensure the clients event is delivered as per the clients expectations
